Tenant Portal: Creating a Tenant Account

Overview

As a tenant, you can use the Building Stack portal as soon as your lease is active in our system. To do so, you will first need to activate your account from your invitation e-mail or directly on our login page.

If your building manager has not yet created your lease in the system, you can also send them an account request from our login page.

If you have already received a welcome e-mail from Building Stack, read the instructions under From your invitation e-mail below.

From the Building Stack login page

If you did not receive an invitation e-mail or otherwise cannot access it, you can activate your account from our login page.

To activate your account:

  1. From the Building Stack login page, click Activate your tenant account

  2. Enter your mobile or home phone number and click Next

  3. Select how you want to receive the activation code, enter it in the field and click Next

  4. Select your language preference, enter your e-mail address, and click Verify my e-mail

How to send an account request

If you were able to complete the steps above without problem, then you can jump ahead to the next section in order to create a password from your invitation e-mail.

If you could not enter your phone number in the activation form, it means that your building manager has not yet entered your information into the platform, and you will have to send them an account creation request.

To send a tenant account request:

  1. From the Building Stack login page, click Activate your tenant account

  2. Enter your mobile or home phone number and click Next

  3. If your phone number is not in our database, a warning will appear on screen. To proceed with your registration, click Request a new tenant login

  4. Fill out the form on the next screen. Double-check the address and unit number, as they must match the information in your building manager’s account, then click Next

Your building manager will receive a pending tenant request. They will then be able to link your data with the appropriate unit and send you an invitation e-mail.

Setting up your account from an invitation e-mail

If your building manager has activated this feature, you may have already received an invitation e-mail without completing the steps above.

If you completed the steps above, but still did not receive the e-mail, try the following troubleshooting tips:

  • Check your spam folder

  • Make sure the e-mail inbox you are checking is the same one you gave your building manager or entered in the tenant activation form

  • Ask your building manager to resend the e-mail

  • If you have multiple welcome e-mails in your inbox, click the link in the most recent e-mail

To activate your account:

  1. Log into your e-mail inbox and open the e-mail with the subject line “Welcome to Building Stack!”

  2. Click on the Activate your Account button in your invitation e-mail

  3. Set a password for your account and click Save password

  4. Check at least the box to accept e-mail communications from Building Stack

  5. Click Continue

You will now be able to use the Building Stack tenant portal.
